Freedom of Information Act Requests

FOIA requests and requests for data should be made via email to FOIA@djj.sc.gov. The following fees may apply: 

Copies over 25 pages = $0.20 per page

Search/Retrieval Fee = $20/hour after the first 30 minutes (no fee if documents are readily available)

Scanning/Redaction Fee = $20/hour after the first 30 minutes

Postage = Standard USPS first class postage stamp included; additional postage must be paid in advance

SCDJJ Public Safety Tip Line 

To submit a tip, please call (866) 313-0073. The purpose of this tipline is to gather information on a crime or suspicious activity that may be related to SCDJJ. It is important that you provide detailed information on the suspicious activity you have knowledge of so the incident can be thoroughly investigated. Important details would include:

  • date of the activity,
  • location of the activity,
  • physical identifiers of the actor(s), and
  • a description of vehicle(s) involved.
Request Education TranscriptAn official school transcript can be requested at Transcripts@djj.sc.gov.
Citizen Concerns and Complaints SCDJJ is filled with hard-working and dedicated employees, and we believe in recognizing a job well done. In addition, we want to hear from you if we missed the mark. Citizens are encouraged to email ombudsman@djj.sc.gov.
